  • Today due to migration there are less than 30 Active Marae

TIRA HOE WAKA

A Whanganui Iwi Wananga available to descendants of Te Awa o Whanganui.  To create a better understanding of the two dimensions:

Te kauae runga Te kauae raro

To travel and Wananga as a people along the length of our tupuna awa, Whanganui, mai I te Kopuputanga ki te Kopautanga, that is, from the mountains to the sea.

Listen in to our Whanganui Radio station via the internet at www.awafm.co.nz

AWA FM Vision: " Heart of Awa Communication".
Mission: "Connecting people to the Awa".

The logo incorporates our three broadcasting frequencies;
100fm broadcasts through the city of Whanganui and approximately 50 Kms North and 20 Kms East and West.
91.2fm broadcasts around the Pipiriki and Central Plateau region, more specifically Raetihi, Ohakune and National Park.
93.5fm broadcasts in the Taumarunui area.

These frequencies enable us to reach the majority of our iwi, Te Ati Haunui-a-Paparangi and into Ngati Rangi
